The
demise of Sheffield’s National Centre for Popular Music did
little to help the city’s live music scene.
Thankfully things have improved a bit of late with some class acts
starting to come through once more and an ever-growing number of
live music venues attracting capacity crowds.
If you want to know the full extent of the live scene – from
where to play to what bands to look out for – get yourself

Until then here’s a few recommendations: |

Just
launched a brand new live room which should give this innovative
venue the room it needs to offer even more quality acts.
In the past it has staged everything from major punk acts like The
Damned to early nineties glam boys LA Guns on the comeback circuit.
Major festivals, generally top noise worth going deaf for.

Hallam
FM Arena |
Tel:
0114 256 5656
Broughton Lane S9
www.hallamfmarena.co.uk
If you’ve got a spare £750,000 knocking about
you might want to think about naming this venue in honour of a loved
one.
Unfortunately you’ll have to wait five years as Hallam FM
got there first, hence the new name and upping of the venue’s
profile.
More gigs than ever in this massive venue that can shrink to accommodate
smaller artistes.
From rock to retro, indie to ice hockey, it’s all here.
